Volunteer scheduling for youth baseball & softball

Stop Chasing Volunteers.

Dugout Duty makes it simple for youth baseball and softball leagues to schedule umpires, staff the concession stand, and track volunteer participation — all in one place.

  • $200/year per league
  • 7-day free trial
  • No credit card required

The problem

Group texts, spreadsheets and a clipboard at the snack bar

Most leagues run volunteers on a patchwork of sign-up sheets and reminder texts. Spots go unfilled, the same few parents cover everything, and nobody knows which teams actually pitched in.

  • Umpire spots that no one claimed until the morning of the game
  • Concession shifts covered by the same handful of families
  • No clear record of which team earned volunteer credit
  • Coordinators spending weekends sending reminders

Two kinds of duty, handled differently

Umpire Duty and Concession Duty

They're different scheduling problems, so Dugout Duty treats them differently.

Tied to each game

Umpire Duty

Every game gets its own plate and base umpire spots, tied to its date, time, field, division and teams. Three games at 9:00 AM means three separate sets of spots.

Facility-level shifts

Concession Duty

Stand shifts are blocks of time — like 8:30–10:30 AM with 3 volunteers — independent of individual games. Create a whole season of shifts across many dates at once.

For parents

Sign up in under a minute. No account.

Parents open your league's signup page from a link or QR code, pick an open spot, and enter five things:

  1. 1First and last name
  2. 2Email
  3. 3Phone number
  4. 4Team To Credit

They get a confirmation email right away and a reminder the day of their duty, with a link to cancel if plans change — so the spot opens back up for someone else.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Do parents need to create an account to volunteer?

No. Parents open your league's signup page, pick an open umpire spot or concession shift, and enter their name, email, phone and the team to credit. That's it.

How is umpire scheduling different from concession scheduling?

Umpire spots belong to a specific game — its date, time, field, division and teams — and each game gets its own plate and base spots. Concession shifts belong to the facility: blocks of time like 8:30–10:30 AM with a set number of volunteers, independent of which games are being played.

What does Team To Credit mean?

When a parent signs up, they choose which team gets credit for that volunteer duty. Your league controls the list, so you can see participation by team at the end of the season.

Can we import our game schedule?

Yes. Upload a CSV of your games and Dugout Duty creates the games, divisions, teams and fields, plus the umpire spots each game needs.

Does Dugout Duty replace our registration or team communication software?

No, on purpose. Dugout Duty focuses only on volunteer scheduling and accountability, so it works alongside whatever you already use for registration, rosters and team communication.

What does it cost?

One plan: $200 per league per year, with a 7-day free trial and no credit card required. Optional White-Glove Season Setup is $149 per season. See pricing.
